NPES, the Association for Suppliers of Printing, Publishing and Converting Technologies, serving as Secretariat to the International Color Consortium (ICC), announces Graphic Arts Color Experts’ Day will take place on June 29, 2017, at the Czech Academy of Sciences in Prague. The focus of the full day education and networking event will be examining current color management issues that are relevant to the printing, packaging, and publishing industries in the Eastern Europe region. A sampling of the presentation topics to be offered during the highly interactive program will include:

  • How to work with PDF/X files
  • Using standard printing conditions and characterization data
  • How to do soft proofing
  • Spectral data communication from prepress to press
  • What problems can be solved with iccMAX
  • Multi-color (CMYK++) printing and proofing
  • Digital print: matching offset vs. pure digital
  • Multiangle measurement and BRDF
  • Consistent color appearance
In each of their sessions, presenters from ICC member companies will introduce different aspects of colour management technology, and engage attendees in helpful question and answer exchange. Additionally, the program includes a special session for Ph.D. students from the Czech Republic and Norway to present their research on advanced color management topics.

While attendance is free at The Graphic Arts Color Experts’ Day, places are limited and advance registration is required. For complete information and program updates, visit: www.color.org/events/prague/
